– What is Shin-Okubo? / 新大久保について –
Shin-Okubo, Tokyo, is known as one of the leading Korean towns in Japan and is a well-established community of immigrants and Koreans.
Signs with Hangul (Korean) characters are perhaps more common than ones in Kanji here, giving the neighborhood a solid visual identity and international vibe.
From Korean restaurants and yakiniku barbecues to cosmetic stores, supermarkets and kimchi specialty stores, travelers can enjoy a sense of authentic Korean culture without leaving Tokyo.
東京・新大久保は、日本有数のコリアンタウンとして知られ、移民や韓国人のコミュニティが形成されています。
漢字の看板よりもハングルの看板の方が多いかもしれません。
韓国料理店や焼肉店、化粧品店、スーパーマーケット、キムチ専門店など、東京にいながら本場の韓国文化に触れることができます。
