昼と夜の二重人格──新大久保から歌舞伎町へ、気ままなストリートジャーニー
昼下がり、新大久保から歌舞伎町まで、気の向くままに歩いてみた。太陽の下、このエリアはどこか“韓流テーマパーク”。制服っぽいファッションの女の子たちがカフェに行列し、観光地ムード全開。人の波も穏やかで、どこかのんびりした空気が流れている。
……が、それも日が落ちるまでの話だ。
夜が来れば、新大久保は急に“沈黙”をまとい、まるで闇の結界。妙に静かで、それでいてなぜか「何かが動いてる」気配だけが濃厚に漂う。一方、歌舞伎町は完全に“夜の主役”へと覚醒する。
ホストの呼び込みが路上に響き、ガールズバーの姉さんたちは完璧な営業スマイル。昼間じゃ見えない「裏の顔」が、遠慮なくこちらに牙を剥いてくる。
ちなみに小生のチャンネルでは、そんな“夜の顔”をこっそり大量アップ中。昼と夜――どっちがこの街の“素顔”か？その答えは、動画で見比べて判断してくれ。

A dual personality of day and night – A carefree street journey from Shin-Okubo to Kabukicho
In the afternoon, I walked from Shin-Okubo to Kabukicho as I pleased. Under the sun, this area is somewhat of a
“Korean theme park.” Girls in uniform-like fashion line up at cafes, and the atmosphere of a tourist destination is in full swing.
The flow of people is calm, and there is a relaxed atmosphere.
…But that’s only until the sun goes down.
When night comes, Shin-Okubo suddenly becomes “silent,” as if it were a dark barrier. It’s strangely quiet, and yet for some
reason there is only a strong sense of “something moving.” Meanwhile, Kabukicho completely awakens to become the “main character of the night.”
The hosts’ calls echo through the streets, and the girls at the girls’ bars are wearing perfect sales smiles. Their “secret faces”
that you can’t see during the day are not shying away from baring their fangs at you.
