第一章：夜、ルージュがきらめく時間帯 ― 21時〜23時の歌舞伎町〜新大久保
新宿の熱帯夜。21時を過ぎた頃、ネオンの海に浮かぶ歌舞伎町の裏通りが静かに火照りはじめる。アスファルトの温もりをヒールで鳴らし、ひとり、またひとりと現れる“ルージュ姫”たち。風にそよぐロングヘア、濃密な香水の尾を引いて、彼女たちは夜のショーウィンドウに映り込む、動くアートのよう。
ピタリとしたドレス、肌をきらめかせるラメのアイシャドウ、スマホの光に照らされるルージュの艶。韓国風の美意識と歌舞伎町流の色気が交差する新大久保界隈では、カフェ帰りの嬢たちがタピオカのカップ片手に、次の目的地をLINEで確かめている。
ホストクラブのキャッチが横目で見つめるのは、ただの“通行人”ではない。この時間帯に現れる女たちは、すでに“演者”なのだ。愛される者ではなく、観られる者。ルージュひと塗りで戦闘モードに入った、真夜中の姫戦士たち。

ハイヒールのリズムは変わらず、どこか誇らしげに。酔いを纏いながら、片手にはコンビニのアイスコーヒー。モンローウォークのように腰を揺らし、まっすぐ前を見つめるその背中には、夜を生き抜いた者の誇りがある。
歩道橋の下、退勤する姫たちの足元には、まだ営業中の24時間ネイルサロン。始発待ちの駅前にて、ルージュの色だけが、夜の記憶をまだ引きずっていた。
